Yep, finally finally FINALLY got myself the new iPhone… the white 16GB version. I’ve been eyeing them for years now – ever since they were first released years ago. But I was ‘bound’ to my BlackBerry ‘cos it’s my work phone, so had to resist. And frankly, the BlackBerry is much better for typing long emails. However, the iPhone is better for everything else and now that we’re in Singapore, I finally can get one.. waaaahoooo!!!

I love it, though it does take getting used to. After years of using my BlackBerry, I couldn’t quite figure out how to scroll down on the iPhone screen. Then I realised “Oh. It’s a touch screen.” DUH ;)

I actually bought the iPhone cover BEFORE I got the iPhone, ‘cos I’m strange like that. Was debating between a couple of $30 covers, then I decided to put them all back whilst I shopped some more to mull it over. At the next shop over, they were having a sale and had a pink cover for $3!!!!! It was a no brainer – I obviously got that cover ;)

And so I am glad to join the ranks of the (many) iPhone users out there. And so I ask you – please tell me your favourite apps!!! Functional ones like photo-editing apps, baby related ones, cute ones, game ones, etc etc. I am rather lost so need some expert tips/advice :P

So I did a massive purge of my handbags last night.. I have 16 handbags to sell, sell, sell! 4 Louis Vuitton, 2 Balenciaga, 1 Coach, 3 Tokidoki/LeSportsac, 1 Miu Miu, 1 Loewe, 4 randoms. After all, with a baby on the way, I want to clear space and have the cash instead. I feel really guilty having all these lovely bags sitting around when I’ve either never used them at all, or only once or twice :X What a waste! Instead, I’m much happier if they go to a good home and get loads of love and use, and I have the cash to spend on baby stuff instead :P

Since falling pregnant, I’ve also suddenly lost interest in a lot of fashion stuff and shopping-for-me in general. All I’m interested in is looking at baby stuff now, LOL! How the mighty have fallen……. Perhaps it’s the hormones, perhaps I’ve finally grown up. Who knows. Whilst I still adore my existing bags (I still kept my favourite ones, I’m not mad enough to sell ’em ALL!), I’m just not as interested.

My goal is to sell around US$10,000 worth of stuff. If I can do that, I’ll be a very happy momma! After listing all my handbags, it’ll be shoes, clothes and cosmetics… and I’ll just keep going until I’m satisfied.

All of this will go on eBay eventually, but I want to sell it here first so that I can give a cheaper price to you guys – I’d rather sell to friends than to strangers :) I am offering FREE SHIPPING in the prices, only on my blog as well. And, I’ll also take payment plans. I’ll take them over up to 4 non-refundable monthly payments then ship your goodies to you once it all clears. I accept PayPal as well as Australian bank transfer. Please note if paying via PayPal, I will only ship to the address on your account.

Sound good? :) I’ll be listing ’em in small batches, by brand. I’ll be selling stuff from around US$50 up to around $2,000 – all with free shipping of course.

First up we have……. TOKIDOKI! I originally fell in love with these bags because they are so freakin’ cute. How can you not smile at the adorable prints?! Plus, I love how lightweight these bags are, and how they hardly get dirty and are wipe-clean. The nylon fabric is the same fabric used in parachutes – cute trivia tidbit. However, as much as I adore the prints, I really only ever take the bags out to look happily at them. I don’t use ’em cos I am far too in love with slouchy leather bags, so it’s a waste for these adorable goodies to just sit around in my home….. they need a way better home to go to!

An authentic, limited edition and discontinued Anne style bag by Tokidoki. This CHARMED print is no longer available in stores and not even sold on eBay! After ages deciding, I picked this one which I thought had the perfect print – featuring the Hula Girl and the Cupcake in front. Made of washable nylon, it’s incredibly lightweight and can fit a small laptop or your Apple iPad beautifully :) I found that the bag tends to ‘fall open’ easily, so I added an elastic tie and button (see photos). If you don’t mind the bag falling open, you can easily unstitch it yourself.

The bag features 3 Main Compartments (1 open 2, zipped), a Front Zipper Pocket, a Interior Signature Zip and Open Pocket, 2 Interior Open Pockets. It has lovely rolled handles (approx 5″ drop) that don’t fall off my shoulder, which I like. Plus, it also comes with a Removable/Adjustable Shoulder Strap (approx 14 – 27″ drop) so you can wear it on your shoulder or messenger style – sooo versatile! Retails US$149 and is no longer sold in stores.

Condition: Mint/new. Comes with original receipt.

Christian Dior’s new Sérum de Rouge

I’ve never been a lipstick kinda girl. I find they look quite dated on me, and make my lips go dry. Worst of all, sometimes it leaves this ‘ring’ around my lips as it fades, gross! So I tend to use lip stains instead, which have great staying power. But as they’re drying I need to use a lipbalm on top, so it’s a bit of a hassle. So I was on the looking for something that would hit the nail on the head.

Christian Dior’s new Sérum de Rouge is not really a lipstick, but not really a lipgloss. It’s actually a hybrid, called a very fancy-sounding Luminous Colour Lip Treatment. Meant to be a skincare product, it has 10x (!!!!) more skincare ingredients than their standard lipsticks, plus it even has SPF20. Some if the ingredients packed in include Vitamin A, Mango butter, Centella Asiatica Extract to stimulate collagen synthesis, Ruscogenine to stimulate microcirculation and promote oxygenation and Commiphora Extract to stimulate adipocytes for improved texture and volume. WHEW!

The feel of the lipstick case itself is quality. It’s not plastickly at all and I like the thin tube it comes in. A click of the base and the lipstick rises for you to swipe on. It has minimal scent and taste and is really creamy, melts in and doesn’t feel like it’s ‘sitting’ on top of your lips. It’s so lovely!! The staying power is awesome and it does NOT make my lips dry, instead, I find it really moisturizing without being oily. Love it and highly recommended :)

From the Christian Dior website: ‘Dior creates the first Sérum de Rouge, elixir of youth with exquisite radiance. A sublime alliance of skincare and color benefits, the serum texture literally melts into the lips for absolute comfort and unbelievable sensory pleasure at application. The formula, 10 times more concentrated in skincare ingredients (10 times more than our classical lip sticks), provides moisture, volume and smoothing benefits for your lips, immediately upon application, and day after day. The palette of elegant, vivid shades instantly illuminates the lips with youthfulness. A feminine high-precision pen design for impeccable treatment and color results.’

Fresh “Sugar Rose Tinted Lip Treatment”

When I don’t want really obvious colour on my lips, and am just after a tinted lipbalm, Fresh “Sugar Rose Tinted Lip Treatment” is an absolute STUNNER.

You can’t always judge a book by its cover, but maaaaaan this has got the most gorgeous packaging! A beautiful pearlescent baby pink metal tube that’s all sleek and sexy, and the cap slides over the top and screws on so it doesn’t fall off in your bag or pocket. It’s elegant and a pleasure to take out to apply.

I’m a bit of a tinted lipbalm nut and tend to buy just about every one I see (oops!). But this one really takes the cake because it ticks off almost every box that’s important to me. The texture is always the most important, and this one is exceedingly creamy and easy to swipe on. It buttery and waxy all at the same time, but doesn’t feel funny sitting on my lips. It sinks in well, has really good staying power, and keeps my lips moisturized. Best of all, it makes my lips have this ‘protected’ feeling.. errr.. hard to explain but I just adore the texture!

The colour is a subtle pink, very lightly visible on my lips which is nice when I’m after a more casual look. I can also just randomly swipe it without a mirror, and not look like a clown afterwards ;) And the scent? A beautiful light citrusy-sugar… more noticeable the first few times I used it but now I can barely detect it. I also love how it has SPF15 in it.

The ingredients in this little gem include sugar (skin soother), meadowfoam seed, grapeseed and blackcurrent oils, Vitamins A, C, E. I totally recommend it for those that are after a ‘no-makeup’ look that still looks nice, and really makes your lips feel awesome :)

Many of my shopaholic girl friends had already told me that Loewe is much cheaper in Spain, since it’s a Spanish brand. By the way, you pronounce it “loh-eh-veh”, said super duper quickly. Anyway, Loewe is, in my opinion, the #1 brand with the softest leather. Other brands just don’t come close. A close second is Balenciaga, but that was mainly for their first few seasons – now the leather is a lot firmer/stiffer and requires helluvalot of wear-in before it softens.

Considering my rabid obsession with super soft, smooshy leather.. you’re probably wondering why I haven’t bought a Loewe leather bag before. Simply put – the styles didn’t suit me perfectly, and they are freakin’ expensive! You pay for the quality and suppleness of the leather, despite the styles themselves being fairly basic with not a lot of bells and whistles. So for years, I always just wandered their boutiques, touching and stroking and lusting over the leather.. but never buying anything.

Until we were in Barcelona :P

As luck would have it, they had a new style in stock: the Loewe nappa leather Ala tote. I ran to the bags like a crazy woman and started stroking them in delight. The style was PERFECT. Utterly simple and basic, it’s just a plain ‘ol tote. Specifically, I loved the perfect medium size and the way it sits on me, and I love the drop length of the handles, and I love how the handles are thin (I don’t like thick straps as they fall off my narrow shoulders). Most of all……….. the smell and feel of the leather.

Napa leather is one of the lightest and thinnest in the world, measuring at 0.7mm. These bags are made with lambskin with organic dye, and the smell of the bag is INTOXICATING. I just keep leaning over to breathe it in, and giving it a stroke with my fingers, resembling just the kind of lady you quickly pull your kids away from.

It smells soooo goooooood! And most of all, it is ultra, super duper light-weight. After all, it’s just really thin nappa leather with some lining on the inside and that’s it. Oh, did I mention it’s also the cheapest of their bags? Their only style I like, and it’s the cheapest one… SCORE :D I was a very good girl though and put it back on the shelf so I could “think about it over the next few days”, to Chris’ surprise. He’s the perfect bag shopping partner – patiently stands there (albeit looking a little bit lost) whilst I swoon over the bags, gives his opinion on all the bags I try on, touches and inspects the bags, then urges me to buy it if I like it – perfect husband material :P

4 days later, I was still loving the bag, so we went back and picked it up!

Happy shopping bag :P

We didn’t splurge tooooo much in Paris.. since we were so busy sight-seeing and eating, heh. We did, however, hit the Infant/Childrens department of everywhere that we went (funny how things change so quickly and I’m far more interested in that now!).

And….. we got a 1st Birthday present for our (unborn) child. Haha. Yes yes, we are eager beavers!! So when our child turns 1 year old, we have the cutest lil outfit all ready to be worn ;)

We found this freakin’ adorable Chloe denim dress, a little pinafore that a little girl can wear as-is, or with a little white blouse underneath. We also got the Chloe cotton bonnet to match, and paired with a pair of little white shoes, she’ll be such a pretty picture! That is… uhhhh…… if we have a girl ;)

Me and my baby bump :P

But if we have a boy? We’re also sorted. Chris picked it out – smart little blue overalls with a striped top that goes on underneath. You can’t see it in the pic, but the elbow parts have red patches sewn into them – sooooooo cute!!

Both the outfits are for 1-year-olds; we figured that’s when they’re upright and going out more, so the outfits will be more suited (a bit useless to have cute outfits on a newborn that’s lying down all day!).

Little boy overalls!!

And finally, Chris selected a very special present for our baby – the cutest, softest lil thing ever.. for a boy or girl infant. All wrapped up to be opened and given to our baby when he/she is born :)

A present for our baby :)

Soooooo, what do you think? Cute? And anyone else as mental as we are and buying clothes 1 year in advance, “out of pure cuteness”? :P

Ahhh…. sight-seeing around Paris… on a perfect Parisien summer’s day. Clear blue skies and fluffy white clouds with warm balmy weather, if only Shanghai was just like this every day!

OK, I lie a bit. We did maybe 20% sight-seeing, 40% eating, and 40% shopping ;) I mean… isn’t that the recipe for a perfect day?? I loved pottering around Paris, and checking out all the shops. The brands are different here, and the ones that exist outside of France are cheaper here, which is a bit dangerous ;) Thankfully, since falling pregnant, I’ve lost interest in shopping/buying stuff (SHOCK HORROR!). So I didn’t go crazy but I did cave and buy a pair of really nice Repetto shoes. I like the brand because they do lovely ballet flats, and I discovered they have these pair of pumps with a small heel – perfect for work or dinners yet low enough so they’re still comfy. I bought them in basic black leather so that they’ll be a classic :)

We did so much we were exhausted by the end of the day. The French lifestyle may be relaxed, especially in the summer months.. but as tourists, because we walk around so much (or maybe we’re just not used to walking), it’s especially tiring! I’m just glad I’m 4 months pregnant (prime time in a pregnancy for travel) and not 8-9 months or I’d completely collapse ;)

At the very ornate Opéra national de Paris building

This looks like a Photoshopped the sky. I didn’t!

At the famous Lafayette shopping mall… *quivers*

Beautiful domed interior of Lafayette

Pretty tiered levels. If only all malls were this gorgeous inside!

And of course, some famous Pierre Herme macarons. I had the Chocolate one, which was
divine. See later for comparison with the other famous macarons from Laduree!

My wee Paris souvenir – Caroline Najman bracelet

A bigger Paris souvenir.. Repetto, a fantastic comfy shoes brand!

Love the nice box!

Leather low-heel pumps. Fab ‘cos I can’t wear high heels now

Us doing the tourist thing at the famous Champs-Élysées

Down Champs-Élysées

My mini Sephora haul. I ADORE Bare Minerals.

The mega Sephora store on Champs-Élysées

Well, at least I didn’t cave and buy anything at Louis Vuitton, unlike some people ;)

Then it was off to the La Vallée Village, a little village
in the middle of nowhere, with outlets galore! How surreal does it look?!

Shopping pals :D
