So for the past 2 weeks or so, we’ve been hit with this weird FREEZING weather. Sydney normally is wonderful – even in winter, it’s still fairly mild and comfortable. But not so recently. It’s been frosty, freezing and all-round awful! Lots of rain, wild winds and just bone-chilling temperatures that we’re all not used to. Everyone’s been complaining and it even makes the news every day – apparently “the coldest it’s been in 20 years” or something like that. Bleh :X Worse yet, I’m allergic to wool – any kind of wool – and I hate looking like a big fat pig so I don’t tend to pile on the layers.. which means I’m always cold :(
Welp, I bought a wool Paul Frank coat! Yes, it’s wool, I know.. but it’s lined (with the cuuuuutest rainbow Paul Frank lining!) so it’s alright with my skin. Other wool coats are lined too but they tend to become really bulky – I like how this one isn’t too chunky/fat looking. It’s a very normal dark gray, so I can wear it with anything.. and it has the cutest toggle button thingys! Very fun to fiddle with ;) The hood also comes in handy when it’s windy or raining. Oh, and did I mention the lining is sooooooooooooo cute!! There was only ONE left in the store and it was in my size, which is already a sign in itself. Then, I discovered it was on sale from almost $300 down to $110. Wheeeeee! Great deal on a lovely wool coat. So now I am toasty and warm walking to/from work :)

The sales are too good to resist.. also got an Alannah Hill vest
And an Alannah Hill red silk skirt!
Did some shopping this weekend, hadn’t shopped in a while so I went a leeeetle mad (whoops).
$199 down from $289, which I thought was a deal, but now that I think about it,
it’s still quite pricey! But it fits soooooo well and is really gorgeous on, though it
looks pretty plain and blah in the pic here. Got it from the Alannah Hill store.
Adorable Alannah Hill ballerina silk skirt, brand new on eBay for $66.
Alannah Hill silk top for $50 in new condition on eBay. It looks like a grandma top
but it’s so lovely on and is really silky and comfortable.
Cheap dress from Tattoo for only $40. It’s so silky and retro!
Witchery leather flats for $38 brand new on eBay. I tried these on
in the store and loved them!
Witchery leather & jewel flats, $129.95 from the store. Had a moment of
insanity and bought these for full-price, ‘cos I loved ’em so much!
And I saved my favourite purchase for the last. It’s a gold ring with a teeny ruby
and I really wanted to buy it, then realised that it was 50% off!! Took it as a sign ;)
Had to get the ring altered to fit me as my finger is a size US 2.5!! :-O
I think I’ve shrunk or something :( Even the jeweler thought I was weird..
Then I spent $100+ altering a bunch of clothes :X Really $$ but I had no choice.. after losing a couple of cm off my waist/thighs/hips, a lot of my clothes got too big for me. But I put it off for awhile, thinking that perhaps I might get fat again (and because I was too cheap to pay for alterations) but then I thought about it, and I don’t want to give myself a reason to put on weight, so I might as well just get them altered and have stuff to wear, rather than having it all lying around in my closet doing nothing. So altered around 8 or 9 pieces and I’m looking forward to getting them back and being able to wear them!! Hurray!!! :)
I wish it had been pink :P
So whilst shopping at Paddington, my aim was to find:
1) a bridesmaids dress for ‘s wedding
2) a dress for the wedding dinner
Well, I did buy 2 things, but completely different to what I’d originally set out to buy. *lol*!
Ended up getting a lovely Alannah Hill necklace – all shimmery with crystals and gold trimming. I have a lot of turquoise in my wardrobe, so this will match nicely! I was actually eyeing it months ago when it was first released for the Winter collection, but resisted getting it because it was sooo $. But today it was on 20% off so I decided to treat myself :)

Then it was on to Luisa Clare. I love her stuff – it’s all leather and they smell and feel divine. Plus they’re really unique and her bags are slouchy and soft. I was there before looking for an across-the-shoulder bag, but couldn’t find one. This time, I did! Plus, there was a 50% off sale!! It was a sign ;) I found my perfect across-the-shoulder bag – all slouchy and soft, and girly. It fits in a ton and will be a nice casual bag for everyday use.

So mission accomplished, yet unaccomplished ;)
