WEDDING: part 8 – the dinner and 1st walk in

23 Dec

Then it was back into the suite for me to wait whilst Chris greeted the guests at our cocktail reception in the hotel. There was much mingling and drinking and nibbling whilst everyone arrived and before they were all seated at the tables, but I saw none of it since I had to wait upstairs. Well, hopefully everyone had a good time!

Stepping in

Chris greets our guests

My new in-laws :P

The reception table – that big box is where all the money packets go into :P

And we got some lovely gifts from friends and family too!

Little gift bags of Australian and Asian candy – heh

Everyone was seated at around 8:00PM and I came down to do the 1st walk-in with Chris, in my wedding gown to “Where Do I Begin”. It was a bit like deja-vu walking in wearing my wedding gown, but different because it was a much more relaxed atmosphere. But it was still an awesome moment and I loved every second! Unfortunately, too short, it should go on for a minute at least :P So before we knew it, we were up on stage and cutting the wedding cake. This is a huge fake one that we cut into just for photography purposes.. just as well because we had our perfect cake earlier :P

A little note to our guests, placed on each table

Our “1st walk-in song”… one of my best love songs of all time.
Worth listening to below – see if it makes you tear up :P

Where do I begin
To tell the story of how great a love can be
The sweet love story that is older than the sea
The simple truth about the love she brings to me
Where do I start

With her first hello
She gave new meaning to this empty world of mine
There’ll never be another love, another time
She came into my life and made the living fine
She fills my heart

She fills my heart with very special things
With angels songs, with wild imaginings
She fills my soul with so much love
That everywhere I go I’m never lonely
With you my love, who could be lonely
I reach for her hand-it’s always there

How long does it last
Can love be measured by the hours in a day
I have no answers now but this much I can say
I know I’ll need her till the stars all burn away
And she’ll be there

A quiet moment, before we walked in

*siiigh* :)

And so, we enter!

Amidst a flurry of petals and dry ice smoke…

…especially when those petals get chucked all over us ;)

Very surreal, having all eyes on us
